Both Liam and Hazel were good, well developed characters. I wouldn't say this is an Insta love story but their lust turns to love very quickly.
Her ex Scott and former best friend were a piece of work and I am glad they got what was coming to them.
Wish we knew the age of Liam, just knew he that he was possibly as old as her father. Had a hard time picturing him in my head because of that.
Otherwise this was a really enjoyable story for me especially after Good Read This was a pretty good read. Otherwise this was a really enjoyable story for me especially after some of the duds that I have read lately!
Mar 14, Jacqueline Ellison rated it really liked it. A fast read with good characters. Hazel works for a law office with her best friend Brittany.
She catches her boyfriend Steve having sex with Brittany on her desk. Liam is from Ireland and came to New York to become an actor.
He is at Starbucks going over lines for his audition when Hazel sits at his table. I thought is was a good storyline with an HEA ending.

OK, just This book started out promising. Hazel catches her long-term boyfriend and her best friend cheating on her.
The alleged best friend works in the same office, so she can't completely avoid running into her. When Hazel runs into them in a coffee shop she asks a stranger, Liam, to just go with it.
Liam who had already been attracted to Hazel when she walks in pretends to be her boyfriend in front of the exes. Liam and Hazel continue to see each other and start a whirlwind, hot relati OK, just Liam and Hazel continue to see each other and start a whirlwind, hot relationship.
Now here is where I quit reading so that I would not do damage to my Kindle. Ex-boyfriend can't find his current squeeze and goes to the office looking for her.
He runs into Hazel and starts spewing hateful, vicious crap about Hazel but says she does screw better and maybe they should give it another shot, and by the way I know your boyfriend is fake and he told me he is only with you for the sex.
Nothing unusual for the villain of the story right? My problem Hazel actually listens to the a.. Yep, that happened. So when Liam shows up a few minutes later to surprise her she yells at him and storms off.
And I am done. I'm sure they ended up getting their happily ever after, but I don't care now. She doesn't deserve it. Mar 28, Romance Rehab rated it did not like it.
Not my fault I plan to include quotes from the book. I scroll around on Amazon for a while and notice that this book, Lucky Charm, is selling like crazy.
And then, bad things start to happen. Really, really bad things… Bad thing 1: Our heroine, Hazel, walks in on her boyfriend having sex with her best friend.
Second of all, this is not a normal reaction. No comparisons should EVER be made to the father. Again, gross! Why on earth would anyone do that?
Well played. Why continue the charade? Why give the cheating bastards another single second of your time and energy? Bad thing 5: The ex best friend is a horrendous bitch who seems to delight in tormenting Hazel for absolutely no reason.
Bad thing 6: The heroine masturbates while thinking about the hero, then the hero masturbates while thinking about the heroine.
I have to read about it both times in great detail. Seems a little Two is overkill. Seems super sudden and not very well thought-out, but I read on.
No, he has to have this massive, porn star penis. The whole sex scene reads like a year-old boy wrote it. And drool is never sexy.

Kindle Unlimited suggested this one as I'm enjoying a month of it free, why not indulge, right?
Well my oh my, what a wonderful read! Hazel is cheated on, viciously verbally abused and heart broken by both her best friend and her boyfriend.
So in a moment of desperation to not let them think they are getting into her mind any further, she asks a sexy total stranger to pose as her boyfriend.
He kindly takes it to the next extreme by announcing they are engaged! But this Irish Billionaire turned wanna-be NYC actor, Liam, starts falling fast for Hazel within minutes of her seating her beautiful self next to him at the local coffee shop.
What happens next is a whirl wind romance for the next few weeks that make both of them question if that either of them really want this to be a "Fake Engagement.
Worth every moment I read it. And when I purchase a book to keep it in my kindle library for enjoyment at any time And I'll add this thought for others that don't think love can take you by surprise and envelop you in less then 48 hours.
It can. It did. It happened to me. Well done Eva Luxe. Happy St. Patrick's Day! Mar 22, Jennifer rated it liked it. Fake Fiance turned real love Hazel goes through a nasty breakup where she ends up losing her boyfriend and best friend at the same time.
Of course that leads to months of hate painting and anger lol. Then one day she walks into a Starbucks and everything changes for her.
She is confronted with the option to either face her demons or fake a romance, of course who wouldn't go with option 2! After some trust issues they end HEA.
The issues I had with this were Liam is considerably older Hazel says that he is old enough to be her dad yet when confronted by her ex's boyfriend and best friend there is a small one line sentence where his age is brought up but that is it.
Hazel believed that this man who was old enough to be her father actually worked at the Starbucks where she met him.
Now I feel like that would have been a perfect opportunity for her ex best friend to open up on the digs which she is famous for throughout the book but she doesn't.
Not to mention who doesn't have some red flags go up about a man most likely in his 50's working at Starbucks but looking like a god?
Hazel also appears to be strong through the majority of the book and you can see the love Liam has for her and she even acknowledges it on multiple occasions but then her ex bf says one thing and she implodes?
Just doesn't seem to fit her character. Overall this was a good book with minor issues that probably only affected me. Mar 14, Sue Lutz rated it it was amazing.
While on line at Starbucks, Hazel is trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend who are now together. Luckily for Hazel, the person already at the table is a tall, gorgeous Irishman named Liam.
She asks him to help her by pretending they are together. Liam has the gift of blarney and quickly weaves an entire back story and engagement to present to the exes.
The ex-best friend seems to go out of her way While on line at Starbucks, Hazel is trying to hide from her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend who are now together.
The ex-best friend seems to go out of her way to be mean to Hazel and Liam happily puts her in her place. By the time they leave the coffee shop, they have started down the path of love.
There are several references to Liam being an older man. Hazel says almost as old as her father. A clearer picture of Liam would have been good.
But still, this was fun, upbeat story that can easily be read in a couple of hours. I received this story as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Liam and Hazel were a sexy and hot couple with just the right touch of Irish luck on their side. I really enjoyed the quite way in which they meet.
Hazel finds out months ago that her boyfriend and who she considered her best friend had been carrying on behind her back.
She has been trying to avoid them since then. She is in a coffee shop and they walk in. In order to appear unfazed by I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
In order to appear unfazed by them she sits down at Liam's table and asks he to play along with appearing as if they are a couple. Liam agrees and the two begin an actually relationship shortly after.
This was a fun read and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. There were a little bumps along the way since Hazel's ex and former best friend kept giving them such a hard time, but that didn't last long.
Great HEA. Mar 13, BP34 rated it it was amazing. An Irish fake romance. Humorous and romantic at the same time.
Well written with likeable characters and an entertaining story line. Hazel and Liam meet in a local Starbucks.
She was hurt when she caught her ex cheating with her best friend and now they're walking into the coffee shot together.
Desperate she asks Liam, a total stranger if he will pretend to be her boyfriend while they are there. He agrees and says since he's an actor, why not take it further and pretend they're engaged.
This cha An Irish fake romance. This chance encounter turns into so much more and the chemistry between them is amazing.

Liam is a sweet alpha type but not over the top. He is surprised when Hazel sits down at his table in a cafe. When he realizes the reason he plays a long with Hazel and her need to show her ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend that she is doing fine moths later after their big fall out.
Liam knows their is attraction that is shared between them and for a moment he thinks everything perfect. Hazel has a few run in with her ex and she allows him to get into her head and she starts to let the insecurities take hold.
Liam doesn't give up on her and he shows her just how much he loves her. Mar 23, Amanda rated it liked it.
It was a cute, insta-love story. Not much St. Patrick's Day stuff but, oh well. I just like the festive books. I didn't feel the chemistry as much as I'd have liked.
They brought up his age sporadically so I'd forget due to his occupation and living off his parents. Seems immature for a man old enough to be her dad.
I liked the characters themselves though, Liam was a nice guy and I fell for. I also enjoyed the interactions between them and her ex, especially the meet cute.
I could feel exactly It was a cute, insta-love story. I could feel exactly what she was feeling. Overall it was pretty good but lacked that build up.
I don't need much but, I have to know the characters a little before they love each other. It's a hard sell with me and I just wasn't quite sold this time.

Dec 04, Ashley rated it really liked it. Annabel Green catches her fiance cheating on her. In the wake of this betrayal, Annabel is lost, uncertain of how to move forward and reclaim her life.
Her best friend, an up and coming designer called Lilly Collins, tries to help. She treats Annabel to a fabulous makeover and makes sure she meets new men.
However, Annabel still uses any and every excuse to delay jumping back in the dating pool. Worried about her friend, Lilly takes Annabel to visit a fortune teller, where Annabel acquires a special charm that is supposed to bring her luck in love….
The first thing that drew me into Lucky Charm was Annabel herself. It always helps to have a heroine that you feel like you could be friends with.
And if you like the idea of a lucky charm, then the fortune teller gifting Annabel with a talisman is endearing. I think most of us, whether or not we admit it out loud, would welcome any charm that would bring more love into our lives.

I really enjoyed reading this. To be honest, sometimes the covers can throw me off. I thought it would be super cheesy but it really wasn't.
It was sweet, charming and very romantic! The premise was interesting. Annabel ends up finding her fiance kissing his book agent and decides to chuck him.
Good for Annabel! But the real part of the story wasn't just trying to get over the hurt and pain that came along with being cheated on, but learning to love again.
And that mad This was a very cute story! And that made this story such a treat to read! I thought this was written really well.
The narrative was easy to read and the story flowed so well. It's written in third person and there were a few times it changed character views, but for the most part it stays with Annabel.
What I liked even more was that Annabel wasn't the only one finding love. We had some great side stories filled with couples falling in love.
Definitely read worthy! If you haven't taken a chance on this book, definitely check it out. Plenty of romance to melt the heart!

For the next few weeks, Annabel slides into a depressing routine of working late, eating takeout and watching tv, while ducking attempts from her best friend, fashion designer Lilly Clayton, who tries to get her out of the apartment.
Determined to pull Annabel out of her funk, Lilly treats Annabel to a makeover and a tarot card reading, where Annabel is given a heart-shaped charm on a gold necklace to wear as a talisman to bring her luck in love.
Lilly asks Annabel if she would accompany her on a three week trip to Paris, to help her in a fashion contest that she has entered.
Will Lilly's attempts to get Annabel back in the dating game work? Will a dream trip to the famous City of Lights and a lucky charm bring Annabel love?
Lucky Charm is a delightfully fun and flirty romance novel that will draw you into Annabel's story from the start.
The storyline is a true chick lit novel at its best, filled with romance, broken hearts, learning to love again, and the promise of a happy ending, all you'll need is some wine, chocolate and a comfy couch to enjoy this story.
The author does a wonderful job of engaging the reader's interest and drawing them into Annabel's journey of self-discovery and learning to find love again.
With a touch of dramatic, flirty and sassy interactions between the characters, you can't help but giggle as you turn the pages.
Annabel and Lilly's friendship is a realistic BFF relationship that everyone can relate to. You can't help but smile and giggle at their crazy antics, it reminded me of my own relationship with my BFF.
The author does a fantastic job of describing Paris and its cultural treasures, it reads like a virtual tour guide, and is truly sigh worthy.
When Annabel meets the handsome Parisian, Etienne Gerard, I found myself smiling and cheering her on as their whirlwind romance developed during her three week stay in Paris.
Even though an ocean separates them, love can overcome all obstacles, if Annabel will allow herself to trust and love again.
There is so much that can be said about this fun little novel, but I don't want to give any spoiler information, so if you are looking for a lighthearted contemporary romance novel that will leave you smiling, I would definitely recommend reading Lucky Charm, you won't be disappointed!

Lilly is a fashion designer who has an upcoming fashion contest in Paris. She somehow convinces Annabelle to join her for a few weeks in Paris, but first, they happened upon a fortune teller one evening a month or so prior to their Paris trip.
The fortune teller got a lot of things spot on about both Lilly and Annabelle and gave Annabelle a beautiful necklace with a heart charm on it.
Said it was a lucky charm and would bring her love. Annabelle had been very skeptical of the fortune teller, but quickly embraced the talisman and immediately started wearing all the time.
Love was a little rocky at first with the charm, but it lived up to its lucky nature once she arrived in Paris. She fell for Etienne hard after their first date!

She finds a lot more wonders that she could ever imagine. I absolutely loved Annabel and Lilly. Their dynamic relationship is invigorating.
Lilly helps Annabel realize that she needs to move on and Annabel does the same for Lilly: by making her realize that she needs to let go of her grudge.
Lilly is such a funky free spirit and I love her wit. Annabel is more of the shy one that takes some time to come out of her box.
The only annoyance I had with this book was that about half way through there was a lot of spelling errors. It has a light fluffy feel to the plot and I like that every once and a while.

The last think Annabel expected was to meet an attractive man while on vacation in Paris, but when Etienne enters her life, Annabel is torn between risking her heart in a relationship with a stranger or staying safe in her single status.
Lucky Charm is an easy contemporary romance novel to relate to and enjoy. The characters experience real-life situations and emotions, making it very easy to relate to and get caught up in the story.
All of the female characters in Lucky Charm face their own relationship struggles and issues, and they are all a bit different.
There is something for every reader to relate to, at least in some way. After all, relationships are complicated, but we all look for that happily ever after.
I appreciate that while exploring the hurts of unfaithful relationships, Marie Astor manages to pull in humor and amusement to the story.
I loved the settings in Lucky Charm. Annabel and Lilly live in New York City, and they are independent, smart women making their way in the city.
They get to travel to Paris for a few weeks, one of the most romantic cities in the world. The cities fit the characters, and the story line so well.
The settings just pulled me into the storyline that much more, and made me wish that I could go to Paris too.
As far as contemporary romance novels go, Lucky Charm is a great novel that I highly enjoyed and recommend.
Aug 07, LeAnn rated it liked it. At the outset of this review, I need to admit that I can't recall the last contemporary romance that I've read.
I do read romances, but I tend toward the historical or the paranormal. Jane Austen is in fact one of my favorite novelists, romance or otherwise.
So, on the one hand, I have particular tastes that may not make me the ideal contemporary romance reader. On the other, I like reading about people falling in love.
Astor's gently charming debut, set in New York where all kinds of magical events and situations seem plausible, features year-old Annabel Green as its heroine.
At the outset, Annabel, engaged to Jeremy and planning their wedding, finds herself surrounded by less-than-ideal examples of romantic love: her best friend Lilly is a love-'em-and-leave-'em kind of gal, her cousin Meredith pretends ignorance of her husband's many infidelities, and her divorced boss Paige flits from date to date.
Things quickly go awry with Jeremy, leaving Annabel in an unenviable single and lonely state. And that's the set-up.
Lucky Charm is a romantic confection that reminded me of the movie Letters to Juliet in some ways: both have a modern heroine working in a job that doesn't allow her to pursue her writing dream, both heroines support a live-in fiance pursuing his dream career in New York, and both heroines travel to a romantic European destination where their future romantic lives are forever changed.
In fact, I can almost see Amanda Seyfried as Annabel. I would love to end my review here, but I'm compelled to add a note about copy editing. The version of Lucky Charm I read unfortunately needs a serious copy editing pass.
I found the numerous mistakes rather distracting. Astor also uses the word "presently" rather liberally. Aug 15, Kelly rated it liked it Shelves: chick-lit , secrets-reviewed , blog-tour.
Grab yourself a glass of wine, a box of chocolates, light a candle and curl up under your favorite blanket. This was the quintessential chick-lit book.
Fun, flirty, a bit of drama, girl-power and a trip to Paris. It has it all. This story started out a bit slow, centering around Annabel's wedding planning and her job.
Of course, the reader can see that there is something fishy going on with Jeremy from the beginning. This is a little frustrating for me, because I just wanted to grab her and shake some sense into her.
However, once the situation comes to a head, I absolutely loved the way she handled it. Of course, Jeremy was a sniveling bastard about the whole situation, but Annabel handled the situation perfectly.
And, with any break-up comes self doubt and regret and Annabel has her fair share, but she doesn't go overboard with it.
What chick-lit would be complete without a trip to the City of Love? I loved the story while they were in Paris. It's full of awkward, funny, romantic and sometimes sexy moments.
I loved watching Annabel progress from an emotionally scarred woman to a woman who believes in luck and love. The story is sweet and light-hearted, leaving me wishing that the trip never had to end.
However, Marie Astor brings the reader back to "real life" when the women return to New York to continue on with their lives. And what better place to wrap up the story than where it all began.
Marie Astor made sure to wrap up all the loose ends which I love! Though, there is a certain character I wouldn't have minded seeing face down in a puddle of mud.
And the twist at the end with Jeremy? Vindication is so sweet! Sep 13, Bonnie rated it liked it Shelves: Lucky Charm is the kind of book that is perfectly paired with a cozy blanket and glass of wine.
It is a sweet, albeit slightly predictable, love story about Annabel who after suffering a devastating heartbreak finds love where she least expected to.
Unfortunately I found the love story to be lacking creativity and it seemed as though the author ran out of ideas for failed relationships — every single character suffered the same type of betrayal.
I would have preferred it if the characters and th Lucky Charm is the kind of book that is perfectly paired with a cozy blanket and glass of wine.
I would have preferred it if the characters and their relationships had a little more depth to them, they fell flat in my opinion and as a reader who looks for strongly developed characters this was a bit of a let down.
